Camp dates for 2019 will be scheduled soon.
These dates don't fit your busy calendar?  Find 3 friends for a total of 4 campers and we will work with you for a date that's perfect for you.

Camp is geared toward youth riders and beginner riders of any age.  Each day campers will groom their horse, have a formal riding lesson, participate in a group lesson, learn how horse shoes are put on, identify symptoms of horse illnesses and  how to treat them, ride bareback, ride in a buggy/carriage, give a horse a bath and learn how to prepare the horses for competitions.

Horsie games are a camp favorite.  Camp concludes with a mock horse show giving campers a real horse show experience.
Camps are overnight but this is optional.  Evening activities include watching lessons on video (taped earlier that day), camp fires and roasting marshmallows.  Riders will not leave RDR premises.  There is no swimming.
Riding style is primarily English although we teach and let each rider ride in different types of saddles, like western and hunt seat, to learn how they differ.  Camps also include classroom activities.  Each rider is provided with a workbook which they can take home.  It includes horse and barn safety quizzes, the parts of the horse, saddle and bridle, different breeds and colors of horses, grooming tools and a lot of other educational material riders can use as a reference after camp.

You will be asked to sign a general liability waiver.  Camp begins Friday and concludes on Sunday.  Cost is $175.00 complete, including  meals.
